Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (known simply as PTSD) is a condition that begins as a result of a trauma that is witnessed or experienced personally. Many people go through trauma, and commonly, there is a 3-day to a 1-month long period of time when an individual may be somewhat haunted by a traumatic event. If after a month, the trauma is still affecting life and basic functioning, this may indicate PTSD.
